Leadershare!

I was so fortunate last weekend to attend Leadershare in Omaha. Leadershare is a Close To My Heart corporate sponsored event. We had four of the leaders from corporate come in for a one day workshop. During that day we made this layout:

This was the first time I had used the Everygreen Cork Shapes on p. 129 of the Idea Book. For only $3.95 you get over 20 shapes. They look great, especially when you ink up the edges a bit. They are also adhesive so they go down great! This layout uses the Pemberley paper and The Best Things stamp set on page 98. It has one of the truest statements....The best things in life aren't things. Well, scrapbooks are right up there though!

We also made 4 cards using the new Colonial White Die Cut cards on page 123 of the Idea Book. I'm not going to show those yet though...may be a workshop in the future.

Speaking of workshops. We had a bonus class day on Friday before Leadershare. During that day we made 12 pages using Footloose and a boxed card set with 10 cards. Those will probably be workshops as well.

If there are certain things you would like to see in a workshop or certain days that work best please let me know. These clases probably won't be until June after graduation.

Loving the New Product

We had a unit meeting last night and made a couple of cards using two of the A sized stamp sets. Did you know that between the two idea books that you can currently order stamps from there are 23 A sized stamp sets? And an A sized stamp set is only 6.95! This top one uses Quick Cards Butterfly which is on page 79 of the Idea Book. The bottom one uses Quick Cards Shell on page 80 of the Idea Book. They are sure named properly....these were quick cards. I used the finder dauber to ink on 3 different colors which looks so difficult but is really so easy. Then I used what may be my favorite item in the new Idea Book.....the color ready seam binding ribbon on page 124! Oh My Goodness! This stuff is awesome. You get 10 yards for only $6.95 and you can color it any color! Last night we use the mister and rubbing alcohol and reinker but you can also use your ink pad. We had other ideas as well but I haven't tried them yet so that will be for a different post. It dries very quickly. You have to try it!

Valentine's

I posted the Valentine for my husband a while back but I wasn't nearly as prepared for my kids'. I finished those up last night. They aren't fancy at all and since they are teenagers they will probably laugh at me for making them but everyone loves to hear that they are loved. My husband and I each wrote 5 of the items so it's from both of us. The 10 things pocket pack is awesome, at at only 3.95 it's a deal!

I really love this stamp set too and would love to do more with it.....as soon as I get my son's album done for high school graduation!

Check out this new paper pack

Consultants get a short preview period with the new products before our customers can order them. I have been working with the paper pack called Stella and boy do I love it. I've only used 2 of the different b & t sheets and can't wait to make more layouts with this paper. I bought the complement canvas shapes and love them! Love the texture of them and I really love the sayings. This paper may have a girl name but I used it on these layouts from when my son was 3 and love them. I also used a flip flap (I tried to show it in the picture where you can see my hand). Just can't forget about these. What a great way to get an extra couple of pictures on your layout and at $3.95 for 15 of them you just can't beat the price.  In addition to the 4 x 6 size there is the 12" assortment and now there are 6 x 6 protectors as well. These layouts were done using patterns in our "how to" books. That sure makes layouts easy and they look so good!

Did you notice the strip of brown paper with the stitching on it and the strip with words like family, the ties that bine, love, together we can move mountains, laughter and remember? These are the zip strips off of two of the pieces of b & t. These strips are above the 12 x 12 piece of paper and are accent pieces that come with all paper packs. I love these!

I added some 12 x 12 sheets of paper but I already have 4 pages and a lot of paper left. Can't wait to use it some more!

Sneak peak at the new Idea Book

I found the idea on our consultant message boards. Sure wish I could remember who made it originally. I made this card using the new Florentine paper pack and the new stamp set called Card Word Puzzle. I know I didn't use much of the paper but you can see two of the flowers from the stamp set. I stamped 3rd generation of the big flowers for the background and then one first generation in the lower right hand. The smaller flower was stamped and cut out of a piece of the B & T. I stamped Happy Retirement inside using this same set. I love this set....in fact I really like all of the new paper packs. There is a nice variety of masculine and feminine papers. More to come....

My take on a Pinterest project

I saw this project on Pinterest: http://itsdoable.squarespace.com/blog/2012/1/23/its-doablethe-flower-wall-art.html#comments and wanted to make my version of it using CTMH papers. I chose Pemberely. Here is my version. If you haven't been on Pinterest it's a very cool site and a great place to get ideas.
